Effects of pneumoperitoneum and patient position on intracranial pressure in obese patients undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy

چکیده
Background/Aim: Optic nerve sheath diameter (ONSD) measurement is one of the non-invasive techniques used for intracranial pressure (ICP) measurement. ICP changes have been evaluated based on ONSD measurements during many laparoscopic surgeries. However, such analyses in obese patient populations are limited. This study aimed at investigating effects pneumoperitoneum and reverse Trendelenburg head-up position patients undergoing cholecystectomy. Methods: observational included 60 female who were scheduled Obese with a body mass index (BMI) 30 above assigned to Group 1, while BMI < 2. The first was performed just before insufflation (T1). second taken 5 min after (T2), third placing (T3), last deflation maintained (T4). Results: T2 T3 time points 1 higher than 2 (P = 0.012 versus P 0.020). Both values patients. In patients, significantly T1 T4 (T2 > T1; 0.001, T4; 0.001). No significant difference between found. T1, T3, measurements, T3; 0.022, 0.048). noted. Conclusion: Laparoscopic cholecystectomy does not cause an increase limited pressure, position, controlled anesthesia.

Comparison of pressure vs. volume controlled ventilation on oxygenation parameters of obese patients undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy
Background & Objective There is no special guideline for the best ventilation mode during laparoscopic anesthesia in obese patients and there are too many studies with different controversial points. The aim of this study was to compare the effect of pressure controlled ventilation (PCV) vs. volume controlled ventilation (VCV) on respiratory and oxygenation parameters in patients undergoing lap...
متن کاملEffects of steep Trendelenburg position and pneumoperitoneum on middleear pressure in patients undergoing robotic radical prostatectomy.
BACKGROUND/AIM The aim of this study was to quantify the changes in middle ear pressure (MEP) during robot-assisted radical prostatectomy (RARP). MATERIALS AND METHODS Thirty patients undergoing RARP were included in this study. MEP was obtained at the following time points: awake (T1), postintubation (T2), pneumoperitoneum + 1 h of Trendelenburg position (T3), pneumoperitoneum + 2 h of Trend...
متن کاملImpact of low-pressure pneumoperitoneum and local anesthetic combination on postoperative pain in patients undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy
Objective. Despite the advantages of laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LC), postoperative pain remains a major complaint for many patients. In this study, in patients undergoing LC, the application of LC via incisional bupivacaine and low inflation pressure, alone or combined, and a comparison of the effects on postoperative pain has been purposed. Methods. Patients were randomly assigned into the ...

متن کاملAttenuation of Intra-Operative Pressure Response to Pneumoperitoneum in Patients Undergoing Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy – A Comparative Study between Dexmedetomidine and Esmolol
Background: Dexmedetomidine is a selective α2-adrenergic receptor agonist which is known to produce sedation, analgesia, and also has sympatholytic, anaesthetic sparing and haemodynamic stabilising properties without significant respiratory depression. Its sympatholytic effect decreases mean arterial pressure and heart rate by reducing norepinephrine release and hence improves haemodynamic stabi...
